KMSST Week 17 & 18

Where does the time go? Back at the airport once again. The team flew out of Boston on the 14th of March for the last stop of the Revolution Tour and two NORAM boardercross's. The team managed to get on the hill for training on the 15th despite the late traveling. The slopestyle event took place on Tuesday. Alex got 42nd, Mitch 29th, and Chris 27th. Wednesday was halfpipe. Alex got 38th and Mitch was close to making finals with an 18th finish. On Thursday Chris and Max took to the boardercross course with Chris getting 43rd and Max 37th. The boys took the following day off. Max had his first NORAM boardercross on Saturday and finished 33rd... just missing brackets. The other three spent the day at Timberline. Max finished the week with his second NORAM boardercross, but this time he did make brackets with a 32nd placing in his time trial. He managed 3rd in his heat which included a couple of Canadian National team members. After the competition, the team loaded up the Suburban and headed to Portland to kill some time before the 11pm flight(from hell). We arrived back at KMS at 7pm the following day. Needless to say, we took Tuesday off. The team is now preparing for USASA Nationals in April at Copper, Colorado. We will be flying out on the 2nd for some slopestyle, halfpipe, boardercross, and giant slalom competition.

KMSST Week 16 Review

The week began with more snow and more fun. The team spent some time in the Stash early in the week before traveling out to California for the 3rd stop on USSA's Revolution Tour. The team stayed at Northstar so they could get some quality riding in on their day off. Competition began on Friday with Max's boardercross. Max qualified with a decent time trial run but got edged out by half a board length during his 1st heat run. He finished 24th at the end of the day. Saturday was halfpipe. Alex came in 47th and Mitch 42nd in a huge field of high quality riders. Alex and Mitch competed the following day in slopestyle. Alex got 55th and Mitch 26th. After the competition the team squeezed in some extra riding time before heading back to their red eye flight out of Sacramento. Alex and Max were able to nail their first on snow back flips. Both were grinning ear to ear and talked about back flipping for the rest of the day. The team heads back to Killington for a week and then will be flying out to Mt. Hood for the last installment of the Revolution Tour at Mount Hood Meadows, Oregon.

KMSST Week 15 Review

Killington was blessed with lots and lots of snow this week. The parks were completely buried for a couple of days which forced the guys to do some free riding for a change. Once the parks were back in order the team prepared for the weekends USASA SVSS slope and halfpipe events at Mt. Snow. Chris got 8th, Alex 10th, and Mitch 13th in slope. Alex got 5th and Mitch 2nd.

And then there were two... while Chris and Alex take Juggernaut too?

KMSST Week 14 Review

The team was back at it and training at Killington once again on Monday. Most of the week was spent in the dreamaker park and halfpipe to help prepare for the the weekends slopestyle and halfpipe competitions. Chris Boera traveled to Smuggler's Notch on Saturday for a Northern Vermont USASA slopestyle competition and took home 4th place. Mitch and Alex traveled to Waterville Valley for a New Hampshire USASA halfpipe competition. Alex came home 6th and Mitch gold. All three athletes used the out of series events to better their chances of making USASA Nationals. On Sunday the guys were at Stratton competing in their home Southern Vermont series. Chris got 14th, Alex 6th, and Mitch 3rd in the slopestyle event. The team will be leaving for Boreal, CA for another stop on the Revolution Tour March 3rd.
