What a start to week 11... RAIN, RAIN, and more RAIN, which can be a depressing thing if you like winter sports. How ever, in this case, Killington managed to get the mountain into fantastic shape by Wednesday. The team was off on Monday while the wet stuff wreaked havoc on the hill. On Tuesday we checked out the parks and discovered an icy half shut down playground, so we packed up the Suburban and headed down to the Green Mountain Rock Climbing Center in Rutland. Max was out due to illness but the rest were happy to get there climb on. Wednesday and Thursday were spent in the Dreamaker park and half pipe. The temperatures dropped into the minus digits on Friday with lots of unfriendly wind making training unbearable. So the team opted for a road trip up to the Rome offices to warranty Mitch's broken board. A very friendly Justin St. Pierre was there to greet us and take care of our needs. He even went beyond and hooked the team up with stickers and pro forms... thanks Justin! The team competed in a USASA Southern Vermont series slope event at Okemo the following day. Junior Men results had Mitch in 6th, Chris 12th, Max 16th, while Alex got 7th in a huge field of Youth Men. Mitch and Alex competed in pipe on Sunday. Both nailed clean runs and just missed getting on the podium with 4th place finishes. The team has a few days left of training at Killington before leaving for Colorado on Friday to compete in the Revolution Tour at Copper Mountain.
