Ktown Showdown and End of Season Awards
The 4th and Final Ktown Showdown went off today at Bear in the Outer Limits Rail Park. 2 different lines in the park seperated Skiers and riders, then they switched sides and did it again. The features were man sized, almost all urban set up and tall! The KWSC/KMS Snowboard Team was represented by Peter Cimmino and Sean Grondin in the Open Men Division, Maggie Leon in the Open Women's Divison and Alex Sheppard, Harrison Pelletz, Joey Leon, Ryan Sihler, Cameron Slenker and Will Stellar in the Grom Division.
Peter was nailing some stylie nose slides and Grondin was sick on the tailslides! Maggie killed it with some sweet fs 50/50 180 offs. Harrison and Alex were cleaning the down-flat-down rail and Joey frontsided the down rail! A great day, but in the end, only Will Stellar landed on the podium, third place for the Groms!!! The competition was fierce!
The KWSC Snowboard Team end of season awards also went down today and the coaches want everyone to know how proud we are of ALL the riders. It's been a long season, and everyone worked hard to dial new tricks and race just a second faster. In the end, not everyone could get an award, but these riders rose to the top of an OUTSTANDING crew:
Most Improved Devo: Liam Dutton
Coach's Award Devo: Chris Oko
Excellence Award Devo: Maddie Pelletz
Most Improved Freestyle Male: Ryan Sihler
Most Improved Freestyle Female: Abby Lancour
Most Improved Alpine: Alex Sheppard
Excellence Award Female: Nikki Sardelli
Exellence Award Male: Joey Leon
Coach's Award Male: Cameron Slenker
Coach's Award Female: Maggie Leon
Tomorrow is the last day of weekend programs, but we'll update from Nationals next week!

Stash Gathering Summary
Ryan's fs 360 tap helped him win the grom division
The Burton Stash Gathering is one of the Team's favorite comps of the year. One reason: It's in the Stash- the all natural terrain park featuring wood and stone jibs and jumps. Another reason: multiple features. Riders can be totally creative in a jam style format and use multiple lines and they're awarded extra points for creativity. Last but not least: sweet goggles as prizes for all!
19 riders from KWSC/KMS competed today and brought home tons of smiles!
